Causes Of Slurry Pump Noise

Slurry Pump noise is a reflection of the characteristics of the pump working state -, the noise of the pump, mainly by various parts of the pump parts or the flow of the pump medium. To reduce the noise, it is necessary to analyze the noise source carefully and improve the sound source structure or the moving state of the medium.

The causes of noise mainly include the following aspects:

1. Mechanical noise

1.1 guide vanes used in multistage centrifugal pumps are not rigid enough or the cross section area at the guide vanes' population and the thickness at the inlet edge are not reasonable, which may cause the noise generated by larger vibration in the pump.

1.2 secondly, due to the contact friction between the parts on the pump rotor and the non-rotating pump body, high-frequency noise will also be generated.

1.3 problems arising from the external structure and installation of the pump.

For example, the base of the pump design is unreasonable, the rigidity is small, the bottom of the base filling concrete defects, the formation of "empty drum phenomenon", there is pump and motor different heart, cause the vibration of the rotor and noise. External noise is easy to detect and eliminate.

2. Aerodynamic noise

Generated by the rotation of the fan and rotor of the motor in the air, which is mainly related to the number of fan blades and the relative speed of air flow (official number: pump operator).

For water-cooled motors, the noise caused by the fan can be eliminated.

3. Electromagnetic noise (mainly generated by the motor)

3.1 electromagnetic vibration caused by unstable voltage;

3.2 uneven rotor eccentricity air gap increases electromagnetic noise;

3.4 asynchronous motor rotor has broken bar, motor torque reduced, load current when high and low, high and low noise.

4. Hydraulic noise

Generally speaking, centrifugal pump, hydraulic noise than mechanical noise is much larger.

There are five main sources of hydraulic noise: the noise caused by pump impeller blades, the noise caused by cavitation erosion, the noise caused by uneven velocity distribution at the impeller inlet, the noise caused by eddy current, and the noise caused by surge.

Pump operating in the highest efficiency area of the minimum noise, deviation from the design condition, the noise level is large, but also very destructive.
